Cocentaina: Tradition That Roars with Gunpowder and Passion

Every second weekend of August, Cocentaina fills with music, gunpowder and colour to celebrate its festivities in honour of Saint Hippolytus Martyr. With over 250 years of documented history, they are considered one of the cradles of this festive tradition in the Valencian Community. More than 3,000 people participate, divided into 8 Moorish and 8 Christian battalions.
